Reference questions about Georgia history,
government, and former legislators can often be answered
after limited research. For these questions, please call the hotline or
submit the question via Ask an Archivist .
For questions that require extended research (defined as questions requiring more than an hour of research) our reference archivists will be happy to assist a legislator’s staff member or intern at the Georgia Archives during our regular hours.
Election returns from 1988 to the present are available on the Secretary of State website HERE .
Georgia General Assembly records including
bills, resolutions, and calendars for past legislative sessions (some as
early as 1755) are available at the Georgia Archives. Bills and
2001 to the present are also available through the Georgia General
Assembly website at www.legis.ga.gov/Legislation/en-US/Search.aspx
Georgia Official and Statistical Register was a biennial publication of the Office of Secretary of State and contains information on state officials and agencies. The registers are available from 1923 through 1990.
Georgia Archives The Virtual Vault makes history come alive through historical documents and photographs.

The "Behind-the-Scenes" tour is available by appointment. The tour highlights the public areas and provides glimpses into the vaults, the microfilm/scanning room, and the conservation lab.
Free Lecture Series
The free monthly "Lunch and Learn" Lecture Series helps the public learn more about Georgia's rich history and features guest speakers. Lectures are on the second Friday of each month 12:00-1:00 p.m.
