Secretary of State Brian Kemp Certifies Special Runoff Elections in State House District 2 and State House District 22

Atlanta – Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp has certified the results for the February 4 Special Runoff Election in the 2nd State House District and the 22nd State House District. The certified results are found on the Secretary of State’s website:

The final tally is as follows:

HD 2

Neal Florence:  1,649 votes, 46.14%

Steve Tarvin:  1,925 votes, 53.86%

HD 22

Megan Biello: 1.113 votes, 42.27%

Sam Moore: 1.520 votes, 57.73%

In certifying the results, Secretary of State Kemp affirmed that all counties in the 2nd State House District and the 22nd State House District have provided to the State the total votes tabulated for each candidate. Further, Secretary of State Kemp affirms that the returns are a true and correct tabulation of the certified returns received by this office from each county.

Certification does not preclude the state from continuing any current investigations related to the General Primary Run-off or from pursuing any future allegations that may arise from the election.

Brian Kemp has been Secretary of State since January 2010.  Among the office’s wide-ranging responsibilities, the Secretary of State is charged with conducting secure, accessible and fair elections, the registration of corporations, the oversight and regulation of securities and the administration of professional license holders.
