QUALIFYING OPENS WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 22 FOR SPECIAL ELECTION IN STATE SENATE DISTRICT 32
ATLANTA, GA – Secretary of State Brian Kemp
reminds individuals that qualifying will be underway Wednesday, February
22, 2017 through Friday, February 24, 2017 to fill the seat vacated by
Judson Hill in Senate District 32. The special election will be held
on April 18, 2017.
Qualifying for the special election shall be held in the Elections Division of the Office of Secretary of State, 2 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive SE, 802 West Tower, Atlanta, Georgia 30334. The dates and hours of qualifying will be Wednesday, February 22, 2017 beginning at 9:00 a.m. and ending at 5:00 p.m.; Thursday, February 23, 2017 beginning at 9:00 a.m. and ending at 5:00 p.m.; and Friday, February 24, 2017 beginning at 9:00 a.m. and ending at 1:00 p.m. The qualifying fee shall be $400.00.
March 20, 2017 is the last day to register to vote for all persons who are not currently registered to vote and who desire to vote in the special election. Advance in-person voting will begin on Monday, March 27, 2017. On Election Day, the polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. A run-off election, if needed, will be held on May 16, 2017.
State Senate District 32 includes portions of Cobb and Fulton counties.
