Examination Information

Applicants for licensure as a nursing home administrator are required to take a national examination administered by the National Association of Boards of Examiners of Long Term Care Administrators (NAB).  No state examination is required.  Once the applicant is approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing Home Administrators to take the national examination he/she is notified of this eligibility and provided instructions for contacting NAB for the purpose of registering to take the examination.  Study materials are provided to the applicant by NAB upon registration for the examination.  Once the examination has been taken the Georgia Board is notified of each applicant’s score.  If a passing score was obtained, a license is issued.  The examination can be retaken according to the information provided in NHA Rule 393-3-.04(1) for those applicants failing to obtain a passing score.  In order to register to retake the examination, the applicant contacts NAB as previously instructed.
