The Professional Licensing Boards Division provides administrative support services to 36 professional licensing boards that issue 197 types of licenses to more than 400,000 Georgians in various professions. The boards process applications, coordinates examinations, and when warranted, conduct investigations into possible professional misconduct and may discipline, suspend, or revoke the licenses of practitioners.

The Professional Licensing Boards Office is located at 237 Coliseum Drive in Macon, GA 31217. Applications or payment can be mailed to that address. Payment must be by check or money order, no cash.

On June 11, 2009, the spread of the H1N1 flu virus caused the World Health Organization to raise the pandemic alert level to Phase 6, the highest level. Georgia officials are currently preparing for the H1N1 influenza campaign and the seasonal influenza campaign that will be conducted during fall and winter. The Department of Community Health is asking all health professionals to serve as emergency response volunteers by signing up to assist with the 2009-2010 novel H1N1 vaccine immunization plan.
