Georgia Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors Board

On May 2, 2024, Governor Brian Kemp signed Senate Bill 195 into law. This new law, affecting Section 7 of OCGA 43-15-13, significantly changes how the State Board will review and approve land surveying applications for licensure.

On May 5, 2022, Governor Brian Kemp signed HB 476 creating a new state agency that will be named the Georgia Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors Board.  In the bill, the license renewal period for Professional Engineers, Structural Engineers, and Land Surveyors changed from a biennial renewal to an annual renewal.  Everyone who is currently renewing or just renewed will receive a December 31, 2023 expiration date.  You can see HB 476 in its entirety at https://www.legis.ga.gov/legislation/59723.
