Georgia law requires applicants for licensure as a music therapist to complete a criminal background check.  The Georgia Bureau of Investigations has contracted with GAPS/Gemalto to provide background check services to applicants for licensure. 

Applicants for licensure must submit an application prior to obtaining a criminal background check. When the application is received, staff will notify Gemalto that an application is on file and the applicant is eligible to complete the background check.  Please use the links below to obtain detailed instructions regarding the criminal background check process:
