Raffensperger Brings Financial Literacy Skills to Seniors in Cumming
Atlanta – Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger is thrilled to announce the upcoming Savvy Senior live event, taking place at Lanier Technical College Conference Center, Cumming, Georgia on Wednesday, October 22 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. We are proud to partner with Forsyth County Senior Services and Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) for this important financial wellness event.
Attention: Senior citizens, family members, and caregivers….Join us for “Savvy Senior: Empower Your Financial Wellness Journey.” Our panelists will discuss essential strategies for retirement planning and fraud prevention. Strengthen your financial security and build confidence in managing your future with expert insights, resources, and practical tips. This event is free and open to all Georgians. A complimentary continental breakfast will be provided with registration.
“Georgia is the best state in the nation to enjoy your golden years,” said Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger. “But our seniors are also prime targets for scams. These financial seminars provide critical tools to help seniors protect themselves, avoid fraud, and stay prepared.”
Both panels will be moderated by Donna Lowry, an award-winning journalist. The first panel, focusing on “Financial Wellness,” will feature Kamila Elliott, CFP®, Co-Founder and Senior Wealth Advisor at Collective Wealth Partners; Tiffany Kent, CFP®, Principal of Wealth Engagement, LLC; and Fredrick Standfield, Founder of Lifewater Wealth Management. The second panel, dedicated to “Fraud Awareness,” will include Nathan Coflin, CACTS Georgia Team Lead, Community Outreach Specialist, Senior Medicare Patrol, AdviseWell Inc.; Shawn Horace, Senior Special Agent CFE, CACTS, Criminal Investigations Division, Office of Commissioner John F. King; Rich Parker, District Director, Northwest Georgia, Georgia Department of Banking and Finance (Department); and Noula Zaharis, Assistant Commissioner of Securities and Division Director of the Securities & Charities Division at the Georgia Secretary of State’s office.
Savvy Senior is a financial empowerment seminar series hosted by Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger as part of his multi-faceted financial literacy effort and is administered through the Securities and Charities divisions of the Office of Secretary of State. These free events feature industry leaders who discuss resources that can help increase attendees’ knowledge about money, their relationship to money, and financial issues and strategies for growing their wealth.
