Raffensperger Opens Investigation Into Alleged Violations by Georgia House Candidate

Atlanta - Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger announced today that his office has opened an investigation into reports that a candidate for the Georgia House of Representatives has allegedly cast ballots in both the May 19 Georgia Primary and the June 9 Nevada Primary this year.

“Voting in another state’s primary while claiming to be a legal Georgia resident is a very serious allegation,” said Secretary Raffensperger. “My office has opened an investigation to gather all the evidence, determine the facts and take appropriate legal action.”

The Secretary of State’s Investigations Division will obtain and review the voting records, signature and all other evidence to determine the facts.

“Candidates are subject to the same laws as every voter in the state,” Raffensperger said. “We will follow the evidence and determine exactly what happened, we will fully enforce Georgia law."
