Secretary Of State Brad Raffensperger And State Legislator Host Voting System Demonstration In Clayton County
(Atlanta) – Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and State Representative Valencia Stovall (HD 74) hosted a demonstration to showcase the new paper based voting systems. The demonstration was led by Secretary of State Election Director Chris Harvey and was accompanied by representatives from Dominion Voting.
“This is an opportunity for citizens to practice casting their ballots, ask any questions they may have, and learn about the new, improved voting system that all counties will use in upcoming elections,” said Raffensperger.
The event was held at the Frank Bailey Senior Center in Clayton County. Participants were able to learn about the new system, ask questions, and participate in a mock election, casting their ballot. Attendees included Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, Representative Valencia Stovall (HD 74), Representative Rhonda Burnough (HD 77), and Clayton County residents.
“It was my pleasure to host this event and allow my constituents to have hands-on experience with the new system,” said Stovall. “As a supporter of the legislation passed to allow for the new system, I am looking forward to casting my ballot in the upcoming elections.”
One demo system, which includes a ballot making device (BMD), printer, and ballot box will be in place in all 159 counties on or before October 6. All counties will have their full outfit in place before the March 24th 2020 Presidential Preference Primary.
