Georgia Secretary of State Hosts “Savvy Senior” Event in Cleveland, GA to Promote Financial Wellness and Fraud Prevention

Atlanta – Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger is thrilled to announce the upcoming Savvy Senior live event, taking place at The Recreation at Yonah Preserve in Cleveland, GA on May 20 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The Secretary of State’s Office is proud to partner with Legacy Link and Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) for this important financial wellness event for seniors, families and caregivers.

The office invites all seniors to attend “Savvy Senior: Empower Your Financial Wellness Journey.” The panelists will discuss essential strategies for retirement planning and fraud prevention. Participants will learn to strengthen their financial security and build confidence in managing their future with expert insights, resources, and practical tips. This event is free and open to all Georgians. A complimentary continental breakfast will be provided with registration. This event is for educational purposes only; no products or services will be sold.

"Protecting the hard-earned savings of Georgia’s seniors is a top priority for my office,” said Secretary Raffensperger. “By empowering our seniors and their families with expert financial knowledge, we are helping ensure their golden years remain secure and prosperous."

Both panels will be moderated by Donna Lowry. The first panel, focusing on “Financial Wellness,” will feature Shardéa Ages, CFP® Founder & Principal, Ages Legacy Advisors; Tiffany Kent, CFP®, Principal of Wealth Engagement, LLC; and Robert MacDonald, Retired Private Wealth Advisor, CKM Wealth. The second panel, dedicated to “Fraud Awareness,” will include Nathan Coflin, CACTS,  Georgia Team Lead, Community Outreach Specialist, Senior Medicare Patrol, AdviseWell Inc.; Shawn Conroy, Communications and Outreach Coordinator, Office of the Attorney General Chris Carr, Consumer Protection Division; Shawn Horace, Senior Special Agent CFE, CACTS, Criminal Investigations Division, Office of Commissioner John F. King; and Noula Zaharis, Assistant Commissioner of Securities and Division Director of the Securities & Charities Division at the Georgia Secretary of State’s Office.

Savvy Senior is a financial empowerment seminar series hosted by Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger as part of his multi-faceted financial literacy effort and is administered through the Securities and Charities divisions of the Office of Secretary of State. These free events feature industry leaders who discuss resources that can help increase attendees’ knowledge about money, their relationship to money, and financial issues and strategies for growing their wealth.
