If you are currently registered to vote in Georgia and have 1) Moved out of state or 2) No longer wish to be registered to vote in Georgia, information on this page will outline how to request the cancellation of your voter registration. Additionally, O.C.G.A. § 21-2-231 & 232 allow an elector or a family member of a deceased voter to request to have such elector’s name removed from the list of electors by making a written and signed request to the County Registrars of such elector's county of residence in the State of Georgia.
Voters or a family member of a deceased voter can complete the Secretary of State Voter Registration Cancellation/Removal form to request such elector’s registration be cancelled in the State of Georgia. There are multiple ways to request the cancellation of your Georgia voter registration, including the Voter Cancellation Request Portal, which can be found at cancelmyregistration.sos.ga.gov

This online tool is a fast, easy, and secure way to request the cancellation of your voter registration. Once you submit this request through the portal, please allow 1-2 weeks for your local County Voter Registration Office to process your request. If you prefer a paper form, you may also complete a Voter Registration Cancellation form, then scan and email to: [email protected] OR mail it into our office at the address given on the form.

Follow the steps on the form for submission, and please allow 1-2 weeks for your local County Voter Registration Office to process your request. You will be mailed a letter to your Voter Registration Mailing Address once the cancellation is processed.
