How-to Guide: Continuing Education Providers
How to Apply
To become a Continuing Education Provider, it is required that you file with the Secretary of State. Review the requirements and the step-by-step guides below.
Please be aware that the Board only accepts new registrations from April 1st to September 1st of odd numbered years. Current providers may add additional courses at any time if they wish.
- Approval requires a completed, signed, and notarized registration along with the required fee.

- You must submit all the required documentation and fees in order for your registration to be approved.

After you Apply – What to Expect
- Processing Time – Applications are generally processed within 20 business days of receipt, excluding weekends and holidays. Applications are individually evaluated by the Board in order of date received, and processing times can vary based on individual circumstances and volume.
- If you receive a deficiency letter, your 20 day count restarts when the Board receives your correct and complete documentation.
- Please Note – Incomplete applications may be withdrawn if noted deficiencies are not satisfied within 60 days of said notification. If your application is withdrawn, you will be required to restart the application process to be considered for licensure, to include submission of all required documents and fees.
- Completed applications will be initially reviewed by Board staff and may be reviewed by the Board at an upcoming Board Meeting. Applications must be complete and received at least 15 days prior to a Board Meeting to be added to that meeting’s agenda. Otherwise, the application will be reviewed at the next Board meeting.

- Keep Your Contact Info Up to Date
- Be sure the email address you include for yourself on your application is correct and current. Email is the primary means of communication used by the Board.
- Additionally, it is important for applicants/licensees to update their email address with the Board just as they would update their physical and mailing addresses.
- Wait For It
- You may not legally perform services until you hold an active license.
- Staff will communicate with you regarding the status of your application.

CE Initial Registration
The Board only accepts registrations from April 1st through September 1st of odd numbered years.
Please be aware, the Board will post and accept new CE Provider registrations beginning April 1, 2025.
If you want to become a Continuing Education provider, submit a registration using the forms furnished by the Board, and show by such registration that you have met all the requirements of the laws and rules of the board.
The following is a checklist of required documents for this registration:
- Completed, signed, and notarized registration with fee. (This will be downloadable on April 1, 2025.)
- Instructors and Qualifications
- Course Schedule and Location
- Sample Sign-In Sheet
- Course Evaluation Form
- Curriculum submitted digitally (on thumb-drive or memory stick)
- Secure & Verifiable Document
- Affidavit of Citizenship
- Immigration Documents (If applicable)
- Submit a non-refundable registration fee of $200.
CE Limited Provider
Providers of industry or trade show courses are providers that offer CE courses for credit for a limited time only at industry or trade shows.

Registrations must be submitted at least 30 days prior to the event.
You will need the following items to complete your registration:
- Completed, signed, and notarized application with fee. Navigate to GOALS to register and login to the license portal >>
- Course Schedule and Location
- Date, Time, and Location of Course
- Sample or description of the certificate, letter, or form to be used as written proof of course attendance or completion for licensee participants.
- Course outline
- Number of CE hours for each course.
- Secure & Verifiable Document
- Affidavit of Citizenship
- Immigration Documents (If applicable)
Submit a non-refundable registration fee of $50.
CE Additional Course
If you are already an approved CE Provider, you must register additional courses that you add to your curriculum.
