Continuing Education Requirements for Licensed Nurses
Continuing Education Information for Licensees
Nursing board licensees have to meet continuing education requirements in order to maintain their licenses with the State Board of Nursing. Please see below to find out the different requirements and rules to keep your license current, and information on how to find and report the classes you take.
CE Requirements, CE Broker, and Reporting CE
Within the free CE Broker Plan, you will have access to your Course History and CE Compliance Status. This lists all the courses which have been reported thus far and indicates whether you have satisfied your renewal requirements. From here, you may easily find and report any CE that might be missing. CE Broker is 100% free to use and you will never have to pay to access all the necessary tools to renew your license!
CE Broker's support center is based in Jacksonville, FL and staffed with experts who have been thoroughly trained on the rules & regulations for the Georgia Board of Nursing. Open 8AM- 8PM ET, Monday through Friday, please visit: CE Broker.
All licensed nurses must submit proof of meeting continuing education (CE) requirements for biennial license renewal. The Georgia Bord of Nursing utilizes CE Broker to track evidence of continuing competency for nurses. Download the How to self-report Continuing Competency pdf for more details.
One of the best free tools CE Broker provides is the Course Search. You can easily find every course needed to successfully complete your license renewal, with just a few clicks! After you are finished with each course, educational providers will report the credits directly into CE Broker for you - but you should always retain a copy of the certificates for your records. To find courses, visit courses.cebroker.com/search/ga and select your profession.
CE Broker has upgraded account options that are optional. For more information, follow this link: Account Plans | CE Broker
To avoid any delays or potential disciplinary action based on noncompliance with the requirements, do not wait until the last minute to register for your account and/or become familiar with the new continuing education requirements outlined in Board Rule 345-4-.02.
Go to https://www.cebroker.com. Once you have created your account and logged into the system, click "Report CE" and locate the option that is most applicable to what you are recording. You will need to answer a few questions and then attach the documentation that the Board requires. If you are using the mobile application on your phone to submit your documentation into the system, you may take a picture of your documentation and upload it via your phone.
You will not receive credit for the courses you list or record if you do not load the supporting documents which represent your participation and completion of the course.
If you have any questions, contact the CE Broker Support Center at How Do I Submit a Support Ticket? – CE Broker
