According to GA Code 43-26-5(a)(11), the Board of Nursing sets the regulatory standards for Advance Nursing Practice in the state. The GA Board of Nursing has statutory oversight of advanced practice nursing. The Composite Medical Board approves and maintains collaborative agreements between APRNs and physicians in the state of Georgia in order to assure each type of APRN (NP, CNP, CRNA and CNM) aligns with their scope of practice to insure APRNs are providing care within the population and scope of their education and training.
