Keep Your Contact Info Up to Date
- Be sure the email address you include for yourself on your application is correct and up to date. Email is the primary means of communication for the Division.
- Additionally, it is important for applicants/licensees to update their email address with the Division just as they would update their physical and mailing addresses.

Solicitor Agent Registration
Registration as a solicitor agent is required if the solicitor agent solicits contributions on behalf of a charitable organization within or from this state.

A solicitor agent may be affiliated through employment or as an independent contractor pursuant to a written agreement with a paid solicitor or charitable organization.

Note: The Affidavit of Applicant (page 4 of the application) requires notarization. Additionally, you will have to provide a copy of one of the forms of identification listed on pages 5 and 6 along with your application.
- Complete the background check consent form, if applicable.
If you have answered in the affirmative (YES) to any questions on page 2 of the Form SA-1, you are subject to a criminal background investigation for the purpose of verification of information provided in the application. Please submit the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Consent Form as written consent to authorize the Charities Division to receive Georgia criminal history information which may be in the files of any state or local criminal justice agency in Georgia. This form is on page 3 of the Form SA-1.
The initial application fee is $50. The fee payment must be made by check or money order. Make the check or money order out to Georgia Secretary of State.
Solicitor Agent Renewal
All Solicitor Agent registrations expire on December 31 of each year.

Please Note: If the renewal documentation and fee are not filed with the Division on or before December 31st, the registration will expire.

The Division will send the renewal form to active registrants approximately forty-five (45) days prior to the renewal date. Please submit a fully completed Solicitor Agent renewal form.

A Solicitor Agent must file a Withdrawal Form to withdraw their registration.

Complete the 2-A withdrawal form and return to the Charities Division of the Secretary of State’s office.
There is no fee required.
Solicitor Agent Amendment
A Solicitor Agent must keep his/her registration current with the Secretary of State by amending the registration.

The registration must be promptly amended to reflect a change of name or address or other information previously provided to the Secretary of State. Please refer to O.C.G.A. §43-17-3.1(b)(6) for information that triggers an amendment filing.

Note: When amending a Solicitor Agent registration, only the sections of the SA-1 that need to be amended from the original registration (in addition to basic contact info) should be filled out and submitted.
The amendment fee is $15.00. The fee payment must be made by check or money order. Make the check or money order out to Georgia Secretary of State.
