Per Code 1981, § 43-26-36 (c) Notwithstanding Code Section 43-1-35, or any other provision of law, the board, in collaboration with the Department of Veterans Service, shall establish a program through which military medical personnel may provisionally operate within their scope of practice and training for a period of 12 months without meeting the requirements provided for in paragraphs (3), (5), and (6) of subsection (a) of this Code section.
An approved Military Medical Personnel to Licensed Practical Nursing Transition Program offers United States military medical personnel the opportunity to enroll in an approved practical nursing transition program after completing the application for licensure by examination requirements and successfully passing the NCLEX-PN national licensure examination.
Military medical personnel who have successfully completed the following military training programs may apply for licensure by examination to be licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse without completing the Military Medical Personnel to Licensed Practical Nursing Transition Program. i. Army Practical Nurse Program (68WM6)
ii. Air Force BMTCP 4N051 (5 Skill Level)
